About the Iowa Institute for Biomedical Imaging

The mission of the Iowa Institute for Biomedical Imaging is to foster efficient and cooperative multidisciplinary and cross-college research and discovery in biomedical imaging, and to improve training and education. This will be accomplished by:

  • Improving communications, both at the human contact level, and through electronic means; with appropriate external alliances.
  • Facilitating biomedical imaging instrument acquisitions, maintenance, and new device development.
  • Facilitating image data processing and analysis, and image file archiving and retrieval.
  • Translation of biomedical imaging research in a bi-directional manner, from bench to bedside.
